Vezel

2024
role: designer of the magazine

September 2024 issue 03

“2024-03 • third edition of this year.
Textiles are all around us. They are the warm sweater in the fall, a comforting rag doll of a child. Textiles are soft, flexible, warm and an inspiration to work with. And to work with again and again, because textiles lend themselves perfectly to reuse. That is why the new Vezel magazine is dedicated to recycling and upcycling this time.

45 pages full of personal textile stories with lots of practical information about different pieces of work and the techniques and materials used. Inspiring to read and to get started with yourself!

> This weekend we will be at the Ambacht in Beeld Festival with Vezel. So hopefully see you there! It’s in the NDSM/loods in Amsterdam.

June 2024 issue 02

“The second issue of the year is out now! The theme is ‘traveling’ and if you like to travel… you can indulge yourself. We travel to learn knitting on the Fair Isle, or buy wool on Ameland to make a piece of jewelry. We stay at home and make inner journeys to retrieve and shape acquired experiences or memories. We meet the Karenni women from Myanmar. They demonstrate their strength using traditional techniques. I worked on this edition partly with sadness, just like the rest of the Vezel team. Our editor Erna van Mil passed away suddenly. My thoughts and presence are with her.❤️

If you would like to contribute to our next edition, you can submit something before July 10. We would like to invite everyone to share knowledge, skills and experience. Take a look at our website for more information, or order a publication there. www.vezel.org @vezelmagazine

March 2024 issue 01

“I am exited to announce that I am the new designer of the magazine ‘Vezel’. I started working on the first magazine at the beginning of January, and it is full of spring vibes as you can see on the cover. The theme of number 1 is ‘Flora & Fauna’ and it came out last week.

There is plenty of experimenting with thread, paint, cloth and wool. You can enjoy and start your own project(s) with all those creative techniques with textiles.

For more info take a look on the website www.vezel.org
On the website you can find the links to the people in the magazine as well.

Thanks a lot team of ‘Vezel’ for welcoming me into the team, all sweet people. And thanks Marie-José for handing over the designer role and teaching me so much already, and making me ready to take over.”
